How to Prepare Your Denver Home for Winter — A Room-by-Room Checklist

Why a Two-Person Handyman Crew Completes More — And Why That Matters for Denver Homeowners
Most handyman companies send one person. We always send two. Here's the practical reason — and why it changes what's possible in a single visit.

Handyman vs. Contractor in Denver — How to Know Which One You Actually Need
One of the most common mistakes Denver homeowners make is hiring a licensed contractor for work a professional handyman handles faster and for a fraction of the cost. The reverse mistake is equally expensive. Here's how to tell the difference.

Pricing & Estimates
How our flat-rate model works, what's included, and how to get an accurate estimate.
How do estimates and pricing work?
Estimates are free and transparent. After a quick conversation about your project list, we provide clear pricing up front — no surprise charges, no high-pressure sales.
How much does a Denver Handy Co. visit cost?
We charge a transparent hourly rate of $80 per person, and we arrive as a two-person crew — so a working hour on site is $160 and covers two sets of hands. Materials are billed at cost, and anything unusual is quoted before we start. Estimates are always free.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Denver Handy Co. is a licensed and insured handyman company carrying general liability coverage, and we're happy to send a certificate of insurance before the visit — HOAs and property managers ask for it regularly. Every project also carries our one-year workmanship warranty.
How We Work
What to expect before, during, and after a visit — crew, cleanup, communication, and documentation.
What does “Complete More in One Professional Visit” mean?
We arrive as a two-person crew prepared to handle multiple projects in a single appointment — paint a room, mount a TV, repair drywall, and assemble furniture in the same visit instead of scheduling separate trips.
Where do you work?
We serve homeowners across the Denver Metro Area, including Greenwood Village, Cherry Creek, Cherry Hills Village, Highlands Ranch, Centennial, Lone Tree, and Denver. If you don't see your neighborhood listed, ask — we likely cover it.

Scheduling & Availability
How far out to book, same-day options, weekend availability, and rental property logistics.
How fast will you get back to me after I send a request?
We call or text within 2 business hours, Monday through Saturday, 7am–7pm. Requests that come in after hours get a reply the next business morning. Most jobs are booked onto the calendar within 48 hours of that first conversation.
How long will my project take?
Most punch-list visits — mounting, minor drywall, fixture swaps, assembly, small repairs — are finished in a single day. A room of interior painting typically runs one to two days, flooring in one room two to three days, and full interior renovations several weeks. You get a realistic day count with your estimate, not a guess on arrival.
How quickly can you start?
Most projects in our core service area can be scheduled within the same week. Larger or multi-day projects are booked further out — request an estimate and we'll share current availability.

Why is there a 2-hour minimum if the job takes 45 minutes?
The minimum covers what doesn't show up on a stopwatch: driving to the supply house if a part is needed, loading and unloading tools correctly, setting up dust protection, and the cleanup pass at the end. It also reflects a simple reality — we always send two people, and below two hours the overhead costs more than the job. Where we differ from solo handymen charging trip fees on top of labor: we use any remaining time on other items from your list, so you're never paying for us to pack up early.
What's included in the rate and what's extra?
The hourly rate covers skilled labor and standard consumables: drill bits, sandpaper, caulk, wood filler, anchor hardware, and similar items that get used up on the job. What's extra: the actual fixtures, paint, flooring, lumber, or hardware you've selected. We don't mark up materials — we either purchase them at cost and pass the receipt through, or you buy them directly and have them on-site. The estimate will tell you exactly which items are labor-only and which involve materials.
