Proudly Serving

Centennial

Local. Trusted. Neighborly.

Centennial covers a wide stretch of the south metro — established neighborhoods like Walnut Hills and Willow Creek built in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and newer pockets east of I-25 that go well into the 2010s. We work across all of it with the same two-person crew: interior painting, drywall, carpentry, installations, and the running list of small fixes Centennial homes need as they age past the thirty- and forty-year mark.

About Centennial

The community we serve

Centennial is one of the more housing-diverse cities in the metro because it was incorporated from several existing communities. West of I-25 you have mature neighborhoods built mostly in the late 1970s and 1980s — Walnut Hills, Willow Creek, Heritage Greens — with mid-size two-stories and ranches on well-treed lots. East of I-25 you have Piney Creek, Saddle Rock, and pockets that span the 1990s through the 2010s, plus newer infill builds. Maintenance follows age: original drywall and trim showing wear in the older sections, cabinet and finish refreshes in the 1990s pockets, and lighter touch-up work in the newer builds. Many west-side neighborhoods have minimal HOAs; east-side neighborhoods often have stronger architectural standards.

How we help

What Centennial homeowners hire us for most

Deeper detail on the services Centennial homes need most — and how our crew scopes and prices each one.

Service spotlight

Handyman in Centennial, CO — one visit, whole punch list

Most Centennial homes we visit have a running list — a sticking door in the primary bedroom, a loose closet shelf, three fixtures that never got swapped, a hole where the old TV mount came down. Instead of scheduling five separate trades, our two-person crew knocks the whole list out in a single visit. We work equally comfortably in a 1978 Walnut Hills two-story and a 2015 Piney Creek build, and we price the visit up front so there are no surprises when we're done.

  • Flat hourly rate, billed by the half-hour
  • Bring your list — we scope it on arrival and confirm before starting
  • Common Centennial visits: door tune-ups, drywall patches, fixture swaps, mounting, shelving

Interior painting for 1980s Centennial homes hitting their next repaint

West-of-I-25 Centennial neighborhoods — Walnut Hills, Willow Creek, Heritage Greens — were built largely in the late 1970s and early 1980s, which means many interiors are on their original builder-grade flat paint or one repaint deep. That paint doesn't clean, doesn't touch up, and shows every scuff. We prep and repaint whole levels with modern washable finishes, cut clean lines against 1980s trim, and handle popcorn ceiling removal in the same visit when it makes sense.

  • Whole-level and whole-house interior repaints
  • Ceiling, wall, and trim color updates coordinated together
  • Popcorn ceiling removal available as an add-on before paint

Service spotlight

Drywall repair across Centennial — settlement, doorframes, and ceiling cracks

Centennial's clay soils and 40-degree seasonal swings work on drywall the same way they work on foundations — hairline cracks over doorframes, corner beads that separate, and truss-lift lines where the ceiling meets interior walls. We repair, blend, and repaint the affected sections so the fix disappears into the wall instead of telegraphing a patch shape from across the room.

  • Settlement cracks, nail pops, and corner-bead repairs
  • Full-blend patch-and-paint so repairs are invisible
  • Popcorn or knockdown texture matching

Local tip

Centennial Homeowner Tip

Many west-side Centennial homes still have original popcorn ceilings from the late 1970s and early 1980s. Removal is messy but transformative — combined with a fresh wall and trim repaint, it's one of the biggest visual upgrades you can make without remodeling. Plan it as one project, not three.

FAQ

Questions from Centennial homeowners

Quick answers on scope, pricing, and what to expect.

Yes — popcorn removal is one of our most-requested projects in Walnut Hills, Heritage Greens, and Willow Creek. We test for asbestos first when warranted, then scrape, skim-coat, prime, and paint to a smooth or light orange-peel finish. It pairs naturally with a wall repaint for the biggest visual upgrade.

It does. West-of-I-25 Centennial homes from the 1970s and 1980s often need plaster-blending repairs, popcorn removal, and original-trim attention. East-of-I-25 homes from the 1990s and 2000s usually need cabinet refinishing, builder-paint replacement, and HOA-aware exterior touch-ups. We tune the scope to the house, not the city average.

Original 1980s flat paint is usually chalky, lightly yellowed, and weakly bonded to whatever primer was used. Prep matters more than paint selection — washing, full spot-priming, and a high-build wall primer in problem areas dramatically improves the finished result and the lifespan of the new paint.

If the boxes are solid plywood and the doors aren't delaminating, refinishing usually wins on value. Degreasing, sanding, bonding primer, and a sprayed enamel in a modern color delivers a near-new look at a fraction of replacement cost. If hinges are blown out and boxes are particleboard, replacement makes more sense.

Most do. Saddle Rock, Smoky Hill, and Piney Creek all have active HOAs with approved color palettes and architectural review processes. We can help pull the approved palette and documentation before the work is scheduled so the project doesn't get held up after the fact.

Yes. Centennial sees real swings in indoor humidity, especially with forced-air heating. We re-shim hinges, plane the high spots when needed, adjust strike plates, and add quiet weatherstrip or silencers so doors latch cleanly all year — not just in October.

Yes. Most original-finish Centennial basements need a wall and ceiling repaint, replacement of dated baseboard and door trim, LVP over old carpet, and a few fixture swaps. We bundle the whole refresh into one scope so it ships as one project instead of five separate visits.
