Full Exterior Repaint
Tan siding to light gray with dark trim — start to finish
A complete exterior repaint: pressure wash, full masking of windows, fixtures and the garage door, then sprayed siding in light gray with dark trim accents.

The job
This two-story home had a decade of Colorado sun baked into its tan siding — chalking paint, faded trim and bare spots where the south wall took the worst of it. The homeowner wanted a full color change to light gray with dark trim, done without a drop of overspray on the windows, concrete or landscaping. We ran the job over several days: wash and dry, prep and mask, spray, then hand-cut every trim line.

The problem
Sun-faded tan siding with chalking paint and worn trim on a two-story home.
Our recommendation
A full prep-and-spray repaint rather than a quick roll-over: pressure wash, scrape and prime the failing areas, mask everything that isn't getting color, then spray two finish coats of exterior acrylic and brush the trim by hand.
The result
A clean, uniform light gray exterior with crisp dark trim lines and no overspray on glass, concrete or landscaping.
Scope of work
What we did
Process
How we approached it
Step 1
Wash and dry the whole envelope
Pressure washed siding, soffits and trim to strip chalking and dirt, then let the substrate dry fully so the new coating could bond instead of sitting on dust.
Step 2
Scrape, prime and caulk
Scraped loose paint, spot-primed bare siding and caulked open joints around trim and penetrations so water has nowhere to get behind the paint.
Step 3
Mask the entire house
Plastic and tape over windows, fixtures, the garage opening, meters and vents — this is the step that separates a clean spray job from a costly cleanup.
Step 4
Spray two finish coats of siding
Sprayed the body color in two full coats, back-rolling where needed for even film build on textured lap siding.
Step 5
Hand-cut trim and fascia
Brushed the dark trim, fascia and corner boards by hand for crisp lines, then pulled masking while the paint was still warm for a clean release.
Step 6
Walk the property
Removed all masking, cleaned overspray checkpoints and walked the full perimeter with the homeowner before packing up.
