The job
A heavily used basement game room with scuffed walls, patchy touch-ups and a vaulted ceiling that made cutting in awkward. Everything — the pool table, the tile fireplace surround and the new floor — was masked before a drop of paint moved, then the walls were patched, sanded and rolled in a warm neutral.

The problem
Scuffed, patchy walls and uneven touch-ups in a heavily used basement game room.
Our recommendation
Full mask-patch-paint cycle rather than spot touch-ups, so the sheen matches wall to wall instead of showing every previous repair.

Step 1
Mask and protect
Covered the floor, pool table, tile surround and trim so the room could stay furnished during the work.
Step 2
Patch and sand
Filled dings and old fastener holes, then sanded flush so repairs disappear under the new finish.
Step 3
Cut in the hard lines
Hand-cut the vaulted ceiling line, tile edges and trim where a roller can't reach.
Step 4
Roll two finish coats
Rolled two full coats in a warm neutral, keeping a wet edge across each wall.
Step 5
Detail and reset
Pulled tape, touched up, removed protection and put the room back the way we found it.
